BASIC -> R.I.P

BASIC -> R.I.P

Because our good fellow BASIC’s music is always being linked to artists that operate in the realm of techno or deephouse or whatever it is called, the old boy decided it was time to change his name.

From now on you won’t hear from BASIC anymore as he’s dropped his moniker to continue by the smashing new alter ego of Daan Hendriks, which is in fact the name his parents gave him anyway, 27 years ago.

To honour this world shattering moment, we hereby release four tracks that were produced for Humanworkshop albums but never made it to finalised versions. Fair enough, two of these tracks were in fact compiled into a single tune which became the title track for his financially hugely successful album ‘Do you know the word’. Nevertheless, even these two will prove a compelling listening experience to the millions of die hard BASIC fans whose craving for new (or old) material is comparable to a famine of the most devastating sort.

Sorry fans, all three of you, BASIC is dead. Long live Daan Hendriks!

Oh, and we have released a ‘new’ album by mr Hendriks on Last.fm, which is in fact an old but very smooth live set, chopped up and renamed. Now, start scrobbling!
